Walking is the most popular mode of travel but levels of walking in West Dunbartonshire are well below many other parts of Scotland. Cycling also has huge potential for growth, including the use of electric bikes that make cycling up hills easier. Scooters and electric scooters are also growing in popularity and could soon be more widely used on designated cycle routes if traffic regulations permit. With so much potential for these modes, the Council wants to enhance opportunities and support measures to tackle current barriers to active travel.
